Shawnee Mission Girls Lacrosse

Student Managers


The members of the student management team are critical components to the success of the High School lacrosse program.  As such, managers are held to the same high standards as coaches and team captains of the program.

Student managers are invited to participate in Varsity and Junior Varsity team building activities and may be issues some of the same gear as coaches or players.

The right student management team makes our lacrosse program more enjoyable for the coaching staff and players while providing a wonderful, life-enriching opportunity for the student manager.

Members of the student management team are eligibly to gain credit for service hours.


Roles and responsibilities:

Team practices – attend all team practices, take attendance, help coaches set up field for drills, assist coaching staff where needed

Team Events -  attend all team events including dinners, travel, post season, post season party

Team Games – attend all home and away games, help coaching staff where needed on sidelines

Social Media – use team social media sites to promote team and help with communication

Overall – be able to fill in where needed including video recording, taking pictures, stats, PA announcing, setting up pregame music, equipment management.

2018 Key Dates for the season

  • February 22  starting at 7pm  Location: Prairie Village Community Center
  • Mandatory Player and parent meeting


  • Monday February 26th  4:45-6:30
  • First day of practice and tryouts
  • First two weeks of practice the times are 4:45-6:30 until after daylight savings and spring break then practices move to 5:45-7:30
  • practice field location Tomahawk Park
  • more dates will be added as the schedule is developed


  • games usually are during the week starting anywhere from 4:30 and could run until 9:00 depending on location
  • some games will be played on the weekends
  • schedule usually includes 1 out of town trip for 1 or both teams
  • there will be a final championship tournament at the end of the season in May
  • the league will try to work around finals and graduations but students should prepare ahead of time for any conflicts

Obtain/renew US Lacrosse Membership # - link found on www.smgirlslacrosse.com registration page or go to www.uslacrosse.org to obtain/renew US Lacrosse membership number with expiration date through May 31, 2018

Complete on-line registration at www.smgirlslacrosse.com - include both player and parent contact information to aid in team communication

Complete Emergency Contact Sheet and Medical Treatment Consent Form

Complete SMGL Amateur Athletic Minor Waiver and Release of Liability

Print, read and sign all the required paperwork including: SMGL Handbook, Player Contract and Parent Contracts.

Pay Fees - $275 online or make checks payable to "Shawnee Mission Girls Lacrosse"


Complete prior to February 22, 2018

Print, fill-out and turn in spring conflict calendar

Print and send out Personal and/or Corporate Sponsorship sheets and donations letters (each player is required to obtain one personal or corporate sponsorship worth at least $100).
